British Gas Great North Swim

The British Gas Great North Swim is the UK's biggest swimming event. The event is a one mile open water swim in England's largest Lake, Windermere. Following its launch in September 2008 the event has already become world renowned, having been voted 5th in the Top 100 Open Water Swims in the World (posted on 10kswimmer.com, 2009).

The one mile swim is a brilliant challenge for all swimming abilities, from first timers to Olympic champions. Come and experience the thrill of open-water swimming, safe in the knowledge expert kayakers and safety boats are with you every step of the way.
