Reading Half Marathon

The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) is one of the world’s leading cancer research organisations, and the only one in Europe directly involved in all stages of cancer research. Our aim is to relieve human suffering by investigating the causes of cancer and developing new strategies for its prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.

The ICR has been responsible for some of the most impressive achievements in the history of cancer research and is among the most cost effective cancer research organisations in the world.

Despite the many advances that have been made by our scientists, there remains much work to be done.

All funds raised from the Reading Half Marathon will enable us to take cancer research to its ultimate goal: that people may live their lives free from the fear of cancer as a life-threatening disease.

The Reading Half Marathon is a fantastic flat course making it ideal for a personal best time or if you're a first timer it’s a great introductory event.

Starting in Green Park, the course allows you to take in the city of Reading and finishes in Reading FC's magnificent Madejski Stadium – you'll feel like superstar.
