The INCTR Challenge Fund supports projects coordinated by the International Network for Cancer Treatment and Research (INCTR) that improves the cancer treatment delivered to cancer patients in low- and middle-income countries, and helps reduce their suffering by:
- Providing chemotherapy drugs and anti-bacteria drugs
- Training local nurses and doctors in early cancer diagnosis, cancer treatment and clinical research
- Raising the local awareness about cancer in order to encourage prevention and early diagnosis
- Providing palliative care services for terminally ill cancer patients
So far, the INCTR Burkitt Lymphoma Programme has treated over four hundred children resulting in an average 60% survival rate at 12 months. 70% survival rate is possible if we can continue to develop the programme.
